Wanted: Dead & Alive

Last spotted in Greenwich Park, these iconic trees, some of which have undergone major surgery, embrace the processes of entropy and decay while retaining their essential character and presence.

My copperplate etchings, developed from close observational drawings and photographs, speak directly to the sculptural and skeletal nature of trees and my own orthopaedic journey.

The title ‘Wanted: Dead & Alive’ alludes to the Wild West posters of often celebrated nefarious outlaws as do some of the playful titles. It’s also a challenge to reassess the aesthetic desirability of dead trees.
